Risk Manager

RISK MANAGER

Permanent position in the manufacturing sector in Slurry, North West Province.
Basis salary of R28 000 plus car allowance of R11 000. This is an Affirmative Action position.

We are only considering South African citizens.

PURPOSE OF JOB
· To consistently manage risk by ensuring compliance with external/internal legal related requirements/standards

QUALIFICATIONS:
· B Tech Safety Management or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
§ People Leadership
§ Expert knowledge of safety, health and occupational hygiene
§ Environment management system in the industrial / opencast mining sectors
§ 5 years experience in heavy industry/mining

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Computer literate.
· Good communicator – written and verbal
· Work independently
· Trust worthy
· Knowledge of legislation applicable to the work environment
· Good knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and DEKRA 5 shield system
· Risk assessments
· Incident investigations
· Auditing skills
· Counseling skills
· People management

KEY OUTPUTS:
· Ensure Compliance and Performance of Plant Health, Safety and Environmental systems according to internal standards and legal requirements
· Interpretation & Communication of Management Information
· Legal appointments
· Administer and control budget
· Manage external audits – SABS, DME, Dept Labor, DEKRA,JAP
· Conduct SHE Audits
· Conduct and facilitate risk assessments
· Manage employees in department
· Manage the integration of contractors on site
· Manage security activities
· Incident investigations
· Liaise with OHMP
· Control and manage Clinic and OHN
· Liaise with Occupational Hygienist
· Manage Achiever database
· Conduct Risk self assessments
· Mentoring and coaching of junior Risk staff
· Co ordinate Risk management training
· Liaise with external customers – DME, Dept Labour, DEAT
· Manage BBSI and draw up reports
· Manage ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, DEKRA and AMS 16001 systems and ensure compliance
· Arrange and manage legal compliance audits
· Co ordinate induction and re induction with all employees
· Conduct audits on external suppliers
· Ensure legal register are up to date and communicated when required
· Co ordinate management of COP’s
· Manage and administer Rail safety documentation
· Interperate and action all external surveys and ensure compliance
· Manage and Co ordinate BCM stimulations
· GRI reports, monthly reports correct and accurate
