Product Specialist – Gauteng
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Product Specialist is responsible to assist with the development and engineering of existing and new products for the Brolaz Group, including the implementation and commissioning of pilot products, feedback and acceptance testing of products in development, and assistance in implementing the product successfully into the market.
DUTIES
Assisting with the development, design and engineering of various specialised products.
Field installations and commissioning of specialised products, such as the Active Cooling System and other electric, electronic or mechanical products as and when required.
Assembly of information for all products to create an efficient system where all products are documented correctly with drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials, training manuals, marketing material, etc to the point where all products are easily accessible to all Brolaz employees for fabrication, construction and installation.
In field assistance in deploying, implementation and commissioning of specialised products.
Training of operational staff on specialised products both in the office and on site where required.
Measurement, analysis and reporting of results from various sites and products to improve the performance, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the product.
Site and office administration, including compilation of As-Built documentation, management of Implementation Programmes, Float Accounts and reconciliation, and reporting back to Head Office.
Creating and sorting detailed bills of materials for specialised products and requirements
Interface with Operations Management and skilled labour crew to carry out works successfully.
Interface with various suppliers and manufacturers on a regular basis from design to manufature.
To comply with any further instructions or requirements of a reasonable nature that may be given by senior management from time to time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistance with the development and engineering of existing and new products for the Brolaz Group, including the implementation and commissioning of pilot products, feedback and acceptance testing of products in development, and assistance in implementing the product successfully into the market.
Training of project, operational and marketing staff.
Adherence to Health and Safety, Legislation and Company Policies and Procedures.
Accurate and timely reporting on all office and site works.
Correct implementation of electrical installations as per SA Electrical Board standards.

AUTHORITY
This position carries the full authority as assigned by the Product Manager, in accordance with the project assigned.
EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENT
Being a qualified electrician with a Wireman’s Licence would be advantageous.
Must be conversant with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and must be able to create intelligent spreadsheets and reports.
Be self motivated, able to work independently from support of management and able to make informed decisions.
