SITE MANAGER – CIVILS – Gauteng

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The implementation and installation of all civil works required for all electronic, telecommunication and allied projects/installations.
DUTIES
Implement and do all civils works for a communications base station as specified in the Statement of Work (SOW).
Quality control and record-keeping of all site works.
Reporting as specified in the Operations reporting procedure.
Submission of Timesheets and Attendance Registers.
Budget control.
To comply with any further instructions or requirements of a reasonable nature that may be given by senior management from time to time.
Manage, control and ensure the well-being of the team working on site.
Implement and manage all health and safety legislation and requirements whilst working on site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Must see to all safety, house keeping and training requirements of site staff.
Follow, abide and report back on all implementation programmes
Look after the well-being of the team whilst on site.
Site construction (civils) within the time allowed as per the SOW specified.
To comply with any further instructions or requirements of a reasonable nature that may be given by senior management from time to time.

EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENT
The incumbent must be self-motivated, able to work independently from support of Company’s Head Office and must be able to make informed decisions on site.
The incumbent must have good site management skills.
Have good administration skills.
The incumbent must be a team player.
Should have a building qualification.
Must be able to read, understand and implement site construction / build-to drawings.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
General building skills experience is essential, i.e. brick and mortar construction, rainwater management, water-proofing, fence installation, paint preparation and finishing.
Experience in civil construction is essential, i.e. setting out of site levels, fixing rebar as per schedules, mixing and placing of concrete, preparation of site service routings.
Basic electrical work experience will be beneficial but not essential.
Radio Frequency installation work experience will be beneficial but not essential.
Rigging skills experience will be beneficial but not essential.
OTHER
Must be prepared to travel extensively.
